SGAI Daily (“we”, “us”, “our”) runs the website at sgai-daily.com and a daily email newsletter about Singapore AI news. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, how we protect it, and the choices you have. We comply with the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 of Singapore (the “PDPA”).
1. What we collect
- Email address — when you subscribe to our newsletter. This is the only personal data we ask you for.
- Subscription status and timestamps — when you subscribed, confirmed, or unsubscribed, so we can manage your subscription and honour your choices.
- Basic technical and usage data — such as anonymised traffic statistics (e.g. pages viewed) and email open/click events, collected to understand what content is useful. We do not use this to build advertising profiles.
We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13, and we do not collect sensitive personal data.
2. Why we collect it (purpose)
- To send you the SGAI Daily newsletter you signed up for.
- To manage your subscription and respond to your requests.
- To measure and improve our content and the performance of our site and emails.
We rely on your consent (given when you subscribe) as the basis for sending you the newsletter. We will only use your data for the purposes above, or purposes you would reasonably expect, unless we obtain your consent for something else.
3. How we store and protect it
Your email address and subscription records are stored with our email and infrastructure providers (including our newsletter system and database/hosting providers) on secured servers. We apply reasonable security measures — including access controls and encryption in transit — to protect your data against unauthorised access, use, or disclosure.

We keep your email address for as long as you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we remove or anonymise your data within a reasonable period, except where we need to retain limited records to comply with legal obligations or to honour your request not to be contacted.
7. Your rights
Under the PDPA, you may at any time:
- Unsubscribe— every newsletter email contains an unsubscribe link. One click and you're out.
- Access the personal data we hold about you and ask how it has been used.
- Correct any personal data that is inaccurate or out of date.
- Withdraw consent and request that we delete your personal data.

8. Cookies and analytics
We use only essential cookies needed for the site to function, plus privacy-respecting analytics to count visits. We do not use cross-site advertising trackers.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be communicated where appropriate.
